Tryb multiplayer został dodatkowo wzbogacony i przystosowany do nowych możliwości gry. Przygoda zaczyna się jak w poprzednich odsłonach serii od stworzenia naszej postaci. W rozgrywce możemy wybierać zależnie od serwera jedną z frakcji którą będziemy reprezentować a mamy do wyboru Wikingów, Sasów, Irlandczyków, Brytów oraz Piktów. Twórcy udostępnili wiele nowych map i trybów rozgrywki tak więc poza tymi które znamy z WB dojdą także opcje toczenia bitew na pełnym morzu czy przeprowadzenia desantu na morskie porty. W multiplayer pojawiają się także jednostki wzbogacone o specjalne zdolności czy przedmioty o lepszych statystykach.

W końcu ukazało się także darmowe rozszerzenie do dlc pod nazwą "REFORGED EDITION". Today we are presenting to you the announcement of "Viking Conquest: Reforged Edition", a 100% free major update coming soon to all owners of the Viking Conquest DLC for Mount & Blade: Warband.
Tonnes of content and features are being added, with not just visual but also gameplay improvements, new quests and a brand new, original storyline.
